In June 1st I am going to Sout Africa with more than 200 missionaries to preach the gospel to the nations there for the World Cup. We are going to use sport's universal language as a way to present God's love and inpact that nation in need of peace.
How are we going to do that? Trough activities related to footbal, like big screens showing the matches in the neighborhood or football clinics where the kids will learn football skills and biblical values together. To reach the tourists, we can use theater, music and other strategies to present people the most important goal of their lives: salvation trough Jesus Christ.
We are going to cooperate with the South African church, that is getting prepared since last year and is actually already developing the strategies, like UbabaloeAfrica (footbal clinics). Important warning: TICKETS FOR THE MATCHES ARE NOT INCLUDED! Whoever goes is going to work hard, because the goal is to serve!
This mission trip is organized by people who work with sports ministry for a long time. The team leader ir pr. Marcos Grava, in charge of Sports Missions Program on JMM (brazillian baptist world missions agency). He led a mission team to China in 2008 and another to Haiti in 2009 with the same purpose: to preach the gospel trough sports. Many people were reached on this 2 mission trips.
The team I am going with is named Conexão África, and will stay in Johannesburg for 20 days. I am going to translate from Portuguese to English, either in the activities on teh local community or outreaching the tourists, because many of the volunteers on these mission trips are not able to fully comunicate in English. After 20 days the team comes back to Brazil and I'll go to Mozambique, cooperate with a missionary family there. My flight back to Brazil is in June 30.
You have the opportunity or cooperating on this mission, even not going to South Africa. My flight is already pais, but i still need U$2,000.00 to pay for accomodations, food, transportation and ppurchasing warm clothes. Part of this money I need to send as soon as possible. You may help in 3 different ways: praying, advertising and giving.

Let's Go to South Africa!!!
