Esse sábado foi um dia muito importante. O Conselho da igreja teve sua reunião mensal e dentre outros assuntos tratados decidiu oficialmente me enviar como missionária da igreja à Àfrica do Sul durante a Copa do Mundo. No próximo domingo, dia 16 de maio, eu vou apresentar o projeto à igreja e ser comissionada. Estou muito feliz por ser apoiada pela minha igreja, uma vez que na Bíblia são as igrejas que enviam os missionários, não outras organizações ou eles mesmos.
This past Saturday was a very important day. Church Council had a regular meeting and decided to send me as a missionary to South Africa during FIFA Football World Cup. Next Sunday, May 16 I am going to present the mission to the church and be comissioned. I'm so happy for my church support, because in the Bible churches send missionaries, not other organizations or themselves.
O pastor e outras pessoas da igreja estavam cientes da viagem e me ajudaram com orientação e oração, mas a decisão da igreja só pode ser tomada agora por motivos orçamentários. E como é uma igreja pequena, o valor com o qual se comprometeu também não é muito grande. Conto com as ofertas avulsas para completar o valor que falta.
My pastor and other people from church already knew about this trip and helped me a lot, trough counseling and prayer. But church's decision could be made just now because of the budget. My church is a small church, so their financial support is not big. I'm counting on supplementary offerings to be raised to complete the amount still nedded.
A expectativa é grande! A viagem se aproxima e mal posso esperar para ver como Deus irá suprir! Great expectations! The departing date is getting closer and I can't wait to see how God is going to provide!

Let's Go to South Africa!!!
In June 1st I am going to Sout Africa with more than 200 missionaries to preach the gospel to the nations there for the World Cup. We are going to use sport's universal language as a way to present God's love and inpact that nation in need of peace.
How are we going to do that? Trough activities related to footbal, like big screens showing the matches in the neighborhood or football clinics where the kids will learn football skills and biblical values together. To reach the tourists, we can use theater, music and other strategies to present people the most important goal of their lives: salvation trough Jesus Christ.
We are going to cooperate with the South African church, that is getting prepared since last year and is actually already developing the strategies, like UbabaloeAfrica (footbal clinics). Important warning: TICKETS FOR THE MATCHES ARE NOT INCLUDED! Whoever goes is going to work hard, because the goal is to serve!
This mission trip is organized by people who work with sports ministry for a long time. The team leader ir pr. Marcos Grava, in charge of Sports Missions Program on JMM (brazillian baptist world missions agency). He led a mission team to China in 2008 and another to Haiti in 2009 with the same purpose: to preach the gospel trough sports. Many people were reached on this 2 mission trips.
The team I am going with is named Conexão África, and will stay in Johannesburg for 20 days. I am going to translate from Portuguese to English, either in the activities on teh local community or outreaching the tourists, because many of the volunteers on these mission trips are not able to fully comunicate in English. After 20 days the team comes back to Brazil and I'll go to Mozambique, cooperate with a missionary family there. My flight back to Brazil is in June 30.
You have the opportunity or cooperating on this mission, even not going to South Africa. My flight is already pais, but i still need U$2,000.00 to pay for accomodations, food, transportation and ppurchasing warm clothes. Part of this money I need to send as soon as possible. You may help in 3 different ways: praying, advertising and giving.

Vamos à África do Sul comigo! Let's go to South Africa!
Olá amigos!
Em 1º de junho deste ano embarco para a África do Sul com uma equipe de mais de 200 missionários para anunciar o evangelho às nações que se encontrarão lá. A estratégia é usar a linguagem universal do esporte em seu dialeto mais apaixonante, o futebol, como uma ponte para apresentar o amor de Deus e impactar aquela nação tão necessitada de paz.
Como faremos isso? Através de atividades nas comunidades locais, como exibições das partidas em telão ou em clínicas de futebol nas quais as crianças aprendem futebol e valores bíblicos ao mesmo tempo. Ou em atividades direcionadas aos turistas, onde poderemos usar teatro, música e exibições esportivas para apresentar às pessoas o gol (meta) mais importante de se alcançar na vida: a salvação através de Jesus Cristo.
Vamos trabalhar em parceria com a igreja sul-africana,que vem se preparando desde o ano passado e já está desenvolvendo várias atividades, como as clínicas de futebol. Importante: NÃO ESTÃO INCLUÍDOS INGRESSOS PARA OS JOGOS! Quem for vai trabalhar muito, pois o objetivo é servir!
Essa viagem está sendo organizada por pessoas que há anos usam atividades esportivas para falar de Jesus. O líder da equipe é o pr. Marcos Grava, coordenador do Programa Esportivo Missionário da JMM (agência missionária batista), que liderou uma equipe à China em 2008 e outra ao Haiti em 2009 com a mesma proposta. Muitas pessoas foram alcançadas nessas ocasiões.
A equipe permanecerá 20 dias no país. Eu atuarei como tradutora, pois boa parte dos que vão não fala inglês fluentemente. Após os 20 dias a equipe retorna ao Brasil e eu vou a Moçambique, colaborar com uma família missionária lá por mais 10 dias.
Mesmo não indo fisicamente, você tem a oportunidade única de ser parte do que Deus vai fazer na África do Sul. Minha passagem já está comprada, mas ainda faltam 2 mil dólares para pagar por hospedagem, alimentação e deslocamento, e parte desse valor é preciso enviar antes do fim de abril. Você pode ajudar de 3 formas: orando, divulgando e contribuindo.
